We use patented, root-pruning, growing methods to produce our deciduous and conifer trees. These techniques distinguish our trees from other growers’ by:
- Eliminating root loss that is common with ball and burlap production
- Discouraging circular root growth that is common with plastic container use
- Providing an attractive product for retail sales
- Easing transport and replanting for customers
Why grow bags?
Sandridge Nursery avoids traditional growing techniques, such as plastic containers and ball and burlap, because they limit root growth and harvest options. Containers force roots to spiral, which can ultimately cause tree loss or less than vigorous tree growth if they are not replanted properly. Trees that are grown with ball and burlap techniques can only be harvested when they are dormant.
Sandridge Nursery uses grow bags made of felt-like and mesh-like materials, which encourages healthy root growth and allows us to plant, harvest, and sell virtually any time of the year without causing our trees to go into shock. This enables us to produce healthier, more vigorous trees for our customers and for your customers.
